Working with Backgrounds

Selecting Backgrounds

You can find the background in the selection area on the left under “Background”. In the list of selection options at the top left of the software, you can select a category of backgrounds from the drop down menu.

The categories of "Favourites" and "Trash" are also available in the backgrounds category. Selected elements can be added into these categories using the context menu (right mouse button).

The multi-colour backgrounds occupy a special position. There are textured (patterned) backgrounds in 36 different colours which are available in a colour selection box. This should give you an option to suit any combination of images.

Solid Colour Backgrounds

There are a collection of solid single colour backgrounds in a number of colours as well as black and white.

Inserting Backgrounds

You can insert a background for the double page spread by double clicking the thumbnail in the object browser. To apply the background to a right or left page only, hold down the left mouse button and drag the background onto the required page.

There are more options of how to display backgrounds under the preview display. If you want to display the same background on all pages, there is no need to manually insert it on each individual page. There is an option to display the background on all pages.

If no background added to the page, the page background is white.

Note:

On the working area, the background may be displayed in a low resolution and appeared to be somewhat blurred.

A better impression of the background can be seen in the preview (button below the view options).

Using your own photo as a background

Among the thumbnails for the photos you will find the icon buttons "image as the background on both pages" , "image as the background left", "image as background right" and "set a photo as background on all interior pages".

Using these tools, you set the currently selected image as a background over the entire double page or the right or left side of your CEWE PHOTOBOOK.

In contrast to the background supplied with the software, you can select any image you have used as a background in the product editor and edit the image in the photo viewer. This means that you can edit the image, modify the hue or brightness or apply an image effect.
